We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Ramp/Baggage Agent to join our team at the airport. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient handling of baggage and aircraft operations, contributing to a smooth passenger experience. Duties:

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of baggage from aircraft, ensuring correct placement and security.
  • Conduct safety inspections of baggage carts, trolleys, and ground support equipment.
  • Coordinate with flight crews and ground staff to facilitate timely aircraft turnaround.
  • Manage baggage documentation and tracking to prevent loss or misplacement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of baggage handling areas.
  • Support aircraft marshalling and guiding aircraft on the tarmac as required.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues or emergencies, following established safety protocols.
  • Transport baggage and cargo between terminal buildings and aircraft.
  • Loading and unloading aircraft within specified turnaround times.
  • Sorting baggage.
  • Scanning tags for flights.
  • Loading containers and trailers, and delivery/collection of mail and freight from various airside locations.

All duties will include the use of large goods vehicles or specialist ground handling equipment. An awareness of health and safety and safe working practices is important, although full training is provided.

This role is vital in maintaining operational efficiency at the airport while providing a high standard of safety and service. Applicants should be organised, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Essential criteria:

  • 5 year checkable employment/education history.
  • Full, UK, Manual driving licence required - minimum 1 year experience.
  • Will be required to complete UK DBS (criminal record check) and overseas criminal record check, if applicable.
  • Must be prepared and able to work rotating shift patterns (early and late shifts) over a 7 day working week (rota- 6 days on, 3 days off).
  • Must be able to commute to Heathrow Airport for early shifts starting from 4.25am.
  • Must be aware that the role involves significant manual handling and working outside.

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to submit the following documents to be considered for interview:

  • Document confirming your right to work in the UK - passport (original and copy if you are shortlisted for interview) and all relevant Home Office documents if applicable e.g. Right to Work in the country. Travel Document is not accepted.
  • Your driving License (original and copy if you are shortlisted for interview).
  • Your DVLA check Code- obtained on GOV website.
  • Proof of your NI number – a payslip from the last 3 months or a P60 from your employer for the last tax year.
  • Your HMRC 5 Year Employment History letter – obtained on HMRC website or HMRC app or Self Assessments, if self employed.

Unfortunately you cannot be considered for interview without these documents so please only apply if you can present the documents.
