We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a refurbishment project within a live education environment in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health & safety standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of site activities
  • Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and trades
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Managing site logistics and programme delivery
  • Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and site safety briefings
  • Liaising with the client, project team, and stakeholders
  • Maintaining site records and reporting progress

Essential Requirements:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (current and valid)
  • Fire Marshal Certificate
  • Previous experience delivering refurbishment projects within education or occupied environments
  • Strong organisational and communication skills

Availability Requirements:

  • Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the 7-week contract
  • No pre-booked holidays or planned absences can be accommodated during the project period
  • The role will require attendance on both weekdays and weekends as dictated by the programme of works
  • Flexibility to work extended hours where required to meet project deadlines
