Land acquisition is a key part of the organisation's growth strategy, and the business is structured to give its land team the expertise and support needed to assess opportunities and progress deals efficiently.
The overall package includes:
- Competitive basic salary.
- Attractive commission for successful land acquisitions, alongside additional deal incentives and a team bonus scheme.
- Company car or cash car allowance.
- 25 days' annual leave.
- Private medical cover and health screening.
- Group personal pension plan and life assurance.
- Employee assistance and wellbeing programmes.
What will you be responsible for?
Your focus will be on creating and converting a pipeline of land opportunities across the South East (Eastern Region)
Day to day, this is likely to involve:
- Identifying potential sites through market research, data, direct approaches and your professional network.
- Developing relationships with landowners, agents and other property professionals across the region.
- Undertaking initial assessments and appraisals of potential opportunities.
- Preparing acquisition proposals and recommendations.
- Agreeing commercial terms and leading negotiations.
- Progressing acquisitions through the due diligence process to exchange.
- Working collaboratively with internal planning, technical, legal and commercial specialists.
- Contributing to the wider regional land acquisition strategy.
- At Senior Land Manager level, using your experience to support and guide more junior colleagues.
Who could this suit?
The business is keen to hear from experienced land professionals, but a traditional residential development background isn't essential.
Candidates with relevant acquisition experience gained within commercial property, retail, hospitality, land agency or other property sectors will also be considered.
What matters is your ability to demonstrate:
- Experience of identifying and acquiring land or property opportunities.
- A proactive approach to sourcing new sites and generating opportunities.
- Good commercial judgement and an understanding of site appraisal.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to progress transactions.
- The confidence to establish relationships with landowners, agents and professional contacts.
- The ability to work effectively with a range of internal disciplines throughout the acquisition process.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the region.
For a Senior Land Manager appointment, you'll also be expected to bring a greater level of acquisition experience, autonomy and the ability to support less experienced members of the team.
What's on offer?
This is an opportunity to join a developer that places real importance on its land function, offering autonomy to pursue opportunities, strong in-house support and an attractive incentive structure that rewards successful acquisitions.
Whether you're already working within residential development or have built your acquisition career in another property sector and are considering a move, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
Applications are being reviewed as they are received and interviews are expected to progress quickly.
Due to the volume of applications received, if you don't hear back from us, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
