An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established real estate investment and development business delivering premium residential schemes across London.
This isn't your typical consultancy QS role.
You'll be working directly alongside the developer, giving you genuine influence over commercial decisions from acquisition through to project completion.
If you're looking to step into a business where your input is valued and you'll gain exposure to every stage of the development lifecycle, this could be the move you've been waiting for.
You'll join a close-knit, ambitious team with a strong pipeline of residential developments, working alongside project managers, architects, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered commercially, on programme and to the highest standard.
The Opportunity
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of the commercial aspects of multiple residential developments, ensuring robust cost control while supporting the successful delivery of each scheme.
You'll be trusted to manage projects autonomously while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within a developer environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
- Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
- Producing tender documentation and managing procurement activities.
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier packages.
- Administering JCT and NEC contracts.
- Preparing valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Managing variations and assessing commercial impact.
- Producing monthly cost reports and cashflow forecasts.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with project managers, consultants and design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
- We're looking to speak with commercially minded Quantity Surveyors who can demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience, ideally delivering residential developments.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
- Experience managing procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills.
- The confidence to work independently while building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- MRICS or working towards chartership is advantageous but not essential.
What's On Offer?
- Opportunity to work client-side for an established developer.
- Exposure to high-value residential projects across London.
- Clear career progression within a growing business.
