We're working with a growing, privately-owned construction and development business delivering high-end residential projects across London. This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside the Managing Director, gain exposure to both contracting and development, and play a key role in the growth of an ambitious business. Rather than joining a large commercial team, you'll be given real responsibility from day one, with genuine scope to progress into a senior commercial leadership position as the business expands.

The Role

Initially, you'll be working on a £1.8m luxury residential refurbishment in West London, managing the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account. You'll also become involved in the company's own residential developments, giving you exposure to both contractor and developer-side commercial management. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Procurement and tendering of subcontract packages
  • Commercial management of subcontractors
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Valuations, variations and change management
  • Monthly applications and invoicing
  • Budget management and cost control
  • Attending site, client and commercial meetings
  • Working closely with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Supporting successful project delivery alongside the Site Manager

About You

We're looking for someone with approximately 3-8 years' Quantity Surveying experience who is looking to accelerate their career within a growing business. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience working for a main contractor or consultancy
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Experience delivering construction projects from procurement through to final account
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership
  • MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous, but isn't essential
  • Experience within residential or refurbishment projects would be beneficial, although candidates from commercial or mixed-use backgrounds will also be considered.

What's on Offer

  • Salary between £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Workplace pension
  • Direct mentoring from an experienced Managing Director
  • Exposure to both contractor and developer projects
  • Genuine long-term career progression
  • Opportunity to help shape the commercial function as the business grows
  • High-quality, technically challenging residential projects

If you're looking for a role where you'll have genuine influence, take ownership of projects, and develop into a senior commercial professional, we'd love to hear from you.
