We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a refurbishment project within a live education environment in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health & safety standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of site activities
- Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and trades
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
- Managing site logistics and programme delivery
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and site safety briefings
- Liaising with the client, project team, and stakeholders
- Maintaining site records and reporting progress
Essential Requirements:
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (current and valid)
- Fire Marshal Certificate
- Previous experience delivering refurbishment projects within education or occupied environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Availability Requirements:
- Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the 7-week contract
- No pre-booked holidays or planned absences can be accommodated during the project period
- The role will require attendance on both weekdays and weekends as dictated by the programme of works
- Flexibility to work extended hours where required to meet project deadlines
