This is an outstanding opportunity for a Junior Building Surveyor with commercial experience or an experienced graduate working towards APC to join a highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy in Bristol.

Working alongside an experienced team of surveyors, you'll gain exposure to an exceptional range of commercial, residential, rural and public sector projects, developing into a well-rounded Building Surveyor while working with some of the industry's most respected professionals.

If you're looking for genuine career development rather than simply your next job, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that is committed to investing in its people.

The Opportunity

You'll join an established Building Consultancy team of eight, forming part of a wider 27-person commercial property office in Bristol.

Working closely with experienced Associates and Partners, you'll receive the support, mentoring and technical exposure needed to accelerate your professional development and progress towards Chartership.

The team works across a diverse portfolio of clients, including blue-chip organisations, private investors, public sector bodies and rural estates, meaning you'll enjoy a varied workload that will continually broaden your technical knowledge and commercial understanding.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include

  • Carrying out commercial and residential building surveys.
  • Preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements.
  • Producing schedules of condition and technical reports.
  • Contract administration and project management on refurbishment, conversion and new-build projects.
  • Preparing feasibility studies alongside multidisciplinary teams.
  • Acting as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations where appropriate.
  • Delivering Party Wall matters.
  • Building strong relationships with clients while supporting the continued growth of the Building Consultancy team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across planning, rural, commercial and wider property disciplines.

About You

You'll ideally have

  • Commercial Building Surveying experience gained within a consultancy environment.
  • MRICS qualification or be actively working towards APC.
  • Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experienced graduates approaching APC are encouraged to apply.

Why This Role?

This is more than just another Building Surveying position.

You'll join a consultancy with an exceptional reputation across the UK property market, giving you exposure to high-quality projects and a client base that many surveyors spend years trying to access.

Rather than being pigeonholed into one area, you'll develop experience across professional building surveying, project work and multiple property sectors building the foundations for a long and successful career in commercial real estate.

The team is intentionally looking for someone they can invest in, offering genuine mentoring, day-to-day support and clear opportunities for progression.

  • What's on Offer
  • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.

  • Agile and flexible working.
  • Structured learning and development.
  • APC support and long-term career progression.
  • A collaborative Bristol office with regular social, wellbeing and fundraising events.

If you're looking to join a business where you'll be challenged, supported and given the opportunity to build a long-term career within one of the UK's leading property consultancies, we'd love to hear from you.
