Site Based Project Manager in Basildon

We are seeking an experienced freelance Project Manager to lead the site delivery of a technically complex, HTM-compliant healthcare fit-out project in Essex.

The scheme includes specialist diagnostic environments incorporating MRI, CT and X-ray scanners, medical gases, radiation shielding and complex M&E systems, with coordination across several specialist consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day project delivery and coordination on site.
• Manage programme, quality, risk and key project milestones.
• Coordinate M&E, architectural and specialist healthcare interfaces.
• Manage and drive approximately 3-4 specialist consultants.
• Coordinate scanner suppliers and their infrastructure, installation and commissioning requirements.
• Manage technical queries, design information, RFIs and approvals.
• Oversee HTM, radiation, medical gas and other compliance requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical or programme issues before they impact delivery.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Provide clear progress reporting and escalation of key risks.

Candidate

We are looking for a proactive, technically capable Project Manager with experience delivering complex construction or fit-out projects.

Healthcare, hospital or diagnostic imaging experience is strongly preferred, particularly involving MRI, CT, X-ray, medical gases, complex M&E or HTM requirements.

The successful candidate must be comfortable managing multiple technical interfaces, challenging consultants and contractors, and taking ownership of the project from site delivery through to commissioning and handover.
