A welcoming secondary school in Oundle is seeking a dedicated and organised Science Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging science lessons and helping students make the most of their learning. The position is available immediately and will initially run until October half term, although there may be the opportunity for the placement to continue beyond this date.

The Role

  • As a Science Technician, you will work closely with the Science Department to ensure practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing equipment, materials and resources for practical science lessons
    • Supporting teachers with demonstrations and practical activities
    • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring it is stored correctly
    • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when required
    • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
    • Assisting with the organisation and upkeep of science laboratories and preparation areas

The Ideal Candidate

    • Has previous experience working in a laboratory, educational setting or similar environment
    • Is organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
