About the Role

Coba Education is looking for an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to work with one of our partner secondary schools in Northampton. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about food education and enjoys inspiring students to develop practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and confidence in the kitchen.

You will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in developing their understanding of healthy eating, food preparation, and kitchen safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons.
  • Teach practical cooking skills alongside theory such as nutrition, food science, and hygiene.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised kitchen classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote creativity, teamwork, and confidence in practical lessons.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom and practical lesson management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
