Technical Sales Engineer in Stourbridge

I'm recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer to join an established engineering business, providing technical and commercial support to new and existing customers.

This is a varied role combining technical problem-solving, customer relationship management and sales, working closely with the Sales, Contracts, Engineering and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries by telephone, email and face to face.
• Understand and interpret customer requirements.
• Produce layouts and costed solutions using CAD software, with training available.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations and tenders.
• Follow up quotations to secure profitable orders.
• Provide technical advice and product information to customers.
• Ensure accurate information is passed to the design and manufacturing teams.
• Keep customers updated on order progress and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations and orders using Sage CRM.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop customer relationships.
• Support the Contracts, Engineering and Production departments.
• Attend customer sites and travel between company locations as required.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Sage 200.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Good time management, initiative and a strong work ethic.
• A team player who can work effectively across different departments.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary of up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• 34 days annual holiday, plus an additional day off for your birthday.
• Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Friday, 7:30am-1:00pm.
