We’re currently working with a well-established manufacturing business in Redditch who are looking to recruit an experienced Press Setter / Operator to join their team. This is a busy but well-organised press shop producing metal components for a range of industries. They’re looking for someone who is confident setting machines, understands tooling, and takes pride in keeping production running efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Setting and operating mechanical and/or hydraulic presses
- Carrying out tool changes and machine set-ups
- Ensuring machines are running efficiently throughout the shift
- Completing first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks
- Working from engineering drawings and production specifications
- Identifying and resolving basic tooling or machine issues
- Supporting consistent output and meeting production targets
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Press Setter or Press Operator
- Experience with progression and/or single-hit tooling
- Ability to read engineering drawings confidently
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, practical approach with good problem-solving ability
Desirable experience
- RoSPA Power Press Safety Certificate or equivalent training
- FLT licence
- Background in automotive, aerospace or precision engineering
- Basic machine maintenance or fault-finding experience
