Exciting Opportunity: R&D Engineer (Sheet Metal / Stainless Steel / Food Processing Equipment) Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 DOE + Benefits Join a leading innovator in the food processing equipment industry and play a key role in shaping the future of food technology. We are looking for a talented and driven R&D Engineer with knowledge of sheet metal or stainless steel mechanical design to work alongside a passionate team, turning creative ideas into real-world solutions. What You’ll Do: * Use AutoCAD Inventor 3D software to transform sketches and concepts into detailed, production-ready designs, especially focusing on sheet metal or stainless steel mechanical design. * Collaborate closely with the R&D team to bring new ideas from initial concept to prototype and full-scale production. * Work alongside a supportive team and communicate across all levels of the business to achieve project goals. * Bring your creativity and problem-solving skills to continuously improve designs with value engineering and efficiency in mind. What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience in design engineering, ideally in a process engineering or food industry environment. * Strong knowledge of sheet metal or stainless steel mechanical design. * Understanding of electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems. * Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). * Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. * A proactive, “can-do” attitude and a desire to learn and innovate. * A UK driving licence is required and own vehicle due to site location *Must be eligible to work in the UK – unable to support any form of sponsorship* This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an office-based role with occasional hands-on involvement in R&D.
