Salary: £30,000 to £45,000 DOE
Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Mon – Fri). Overtime may be available.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients innovative team. As part of the design department, you will contribute to the development of a diverse range of high-quality equipment, ensuring excellence in every project.

What You’ll Do:

* Work within a dynamic design team to create and develop equipment across various projects.

* Utilise Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to produce detailed design drawings.

* Leverage your engineering background to tackle new design challenges, meeting deadlines and working independently or as part of a team.

* Communicate directly with suppliers to obtain prices and delivery timelines, ensuring smooth project execution.

What We’re Looking For:

* Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

* A solid engineering background, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

* Experience in liaising with suppliers and managing project logistics.

Bonus Points if:

* Previous hands-on experience on the shop floor (machining, welding, fabrication, or time-served apprenticeship).

* Experience in sheet metal design and working with stainless steel materials.

* Working knowledge of steam systems, fluid systems, pumps, pipework, pneumatics, and stress calculations.

* Experience with sizing motor/gearbox applications, sheet metal development, and understanding tolerances of machined parts.
