The Opportunity

My client is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a busy, precision engineering production environment. You'll take ownership of maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of CNC machinery and supporting equipment. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts production, quality, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carry out planned, reactive, and proactive maintenance on modern workshop machinery.
  • Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain and support building facilities and electrical installations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production electronic/electrical systems.
  • Work collaboratively within a small, skilled engineering team to support production and operations.
  • Contribute to reliability, quality improvements, and innovative solutions across the workshop.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and documentation for repairs and PPM schedules.

What You'll Need:

Must-Haves:

  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with CNC, PC-controlled, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Flexible, team-oriented approach with a willingness to work occasional out-of-hours shifts.
  • Excellent electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have (or Willing to Learn):

  • Knowledge of control systems programming or automation.
  • Experience implementing reliability or continuous improvement initiatives.
