The Opportunity
Were seeking a capable and versatileElectrical Assembly & Test Technicianto join our clients engineering team.
This hands-on role focuses oncomplete machine wiring, functional testing, and supporting electrical installationsacross the site. Youll work closely with multiple departments during machine builds and upgrades, helping ensure machinery is safe, functional, and ready for commissioning.
This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available.
What Youll Be Doing
- Wire and connect complete electrical systems across machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects.
- Carry out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding prior to commissioning.
- Verify signal paths and validate safe operation before software upload or HMI integration.
- Read and work from electrical schematics, layout drawings, and structured BOMs.
- Support electrical installation tasks around the factory, including lighting circuits, distribution boards, and equipment upgrades.
- Assist in new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects within production areas.
- Collaborate with other departments during machine build, including routing, alignment, and system integration.
- Maintain safe working practices while delivering professional-quality builds.
What Youll Need
Must-Haves:
- Solid background inmachine wiring or industrial electrical assembly.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation.
- Practical experience with a range of control devices, drives, sensors, and motors (including DOL and VFD configurations).
- Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and test.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to support workshop tasks and on-site electrical work.
- Positive attitude, good team-working skills, and attention to workmanship quality.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience:
- Electrical installation experience (industrial, commercial, or domestic).
- Recognised qualifications such as 18th Edition or equivalent.
- Exposure to automation systems, PLC/HMI architecture, or drive commissioning tools.
- Experience in food machinery, process equipment, or OEM manufacturing environments.

Working Hours
- Monday: 7.30 am 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm 4.00 pm
- Tuesday: 7.30 am 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm 4.30 pm
- Wednesday/Thursday: 7.30 am 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm 5.00 pm
- Friday: 7.30 am 12 noon
Overtime is available and paid at1.5 hourly rate, including Saturday mornings.
