We are seeking an Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the organisation in delivering projects within budget. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills to contribute to our company’s growth and success.

Tasks and Duties to include:

  • Carrying out steel take offs: measuring and quantifying material from Engineers and Architects drawings / specifications and bill of quantities.
  • Preparation of cost estimates within strict time frames, mainly for structural steel buildings, including feature staircases, glass balustrades and architectural railings.
  • Preparation of detailed quotations.
  • Carrying out the above in accordance with all Health and Safety, Quality and CE Marking procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information.
  • Providing general public with prices on enquiries made.
  • Dealing with general public enquiries.
  • Purchasing stock and controlling stock level.

To be considered for this role the successful candidate will need the following:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role within the construction or engineering sectors.
  • Have a good understanding of steelwork and engineering principles.
  • Strong math and analytical skills, as well as an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD (however not essential) and prepare drawings to aid with workshop manufacturing and price submissions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with long standing customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Full driving license.
