The MIS Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of data management and reporting within the College. This role supports the production and submission of funding claims, maintains key data systems, and assists with the creation and implementation of timetables and curriculum data. The post-holder works collaboratively with curriculum managers, senior managers, and administrative teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant data services in support of the College's operational and strategic objectives.
Data Management & Funding Compliance
- Maintain and validate "back-office" ILR data fields, ensuring effective error-checking and data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation, production, and submission of college funding claims and related data returns in line with ESFA and internal guidelines.
- Liaise with external agencies and internal teams to produce, verify, and submit accurate data reports.
Timetabling & Curriculum Support
- Coordinate with curriculum and senior managers to create and maintain accurate student timetables within the College management information system (e.g., ProSolution).
- Assist the Timetabling Officer to book teaching rooms and exam venues, liaising with Estates and IT teams to prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Support the examinations team by assisting with the timetabling of student assessments.
MIS Systems Development & Reporting
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MIS reports and dashboards to support effective decision making across the College.
- Identify and implement automated data-checking, data correction routines, and efficient procedural solutions to improve data accuracy and processing efficiency.
- Manage technical documentation for software systems, including version control, licensing information, and configuration details.
User Support & Training
- Provide a reliable and timely service for internal data requests and queries, ensuring a friendly and helpful approach.
- Work closely with IT support to resolve user queries and offer training on MIS systems, enhancing the overall user experience.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge libraries and training materials for staff using MIS systems.
General Administration & Compliance
- Adhere to and promote College safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection policies.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to team projects and initiatives as required.
- Assist with special projects and College events.
