As a Lecturer in Electronics Engineering, you will deliver engaging, hands-on, and inclusive learning experiences that prepare students for careers in electronics, automation, and digital technologies. You will teach across our Level 2, Level 3, and HNC programmes, focusing on:
- Electronics Theory - including circuit design, analogue/digital systems, and embedded technologies
- Mathematical Applications - supporting learners in applying core maths to solve engineering problems
- PLC Programming - introducing students to programmable logic controllers and industrial automation
- Mechatronics - integrating mechanical, electrical, and computer systems in practical contexts
- Digital Principles - covering logic systems, microcontrollers, and digital communication
- Mechanical Principles - applying foundational mechanical engineering concepts to support multidisciplinary learning
You will work closely with our curriculum team to ensure students receive high-quality instruction and pastoral support. You will also contribute to the development of our new T Level in Engineering, helping shape a curriculum that reflects current industry standards and future workforce needs.
Qualifications and experience
- Industry professionals with expertise in electronics engineering, mechatronics, mechanical principles, and applied mathematics
- Experience with PLCs, digital systems, and electronics theory
- Teaching qualifications are desirable; support may be available for candidates working toward them

Coastland College is a General Further Education College spread across two campuses ā one situated on the stunning Jurassic coastline in Weymouth and the other on a beautiful 18th Century Estate near Dorchester.
