About your role: We’re looking for a Fleet Vehicle Technician & Driver to ensure our college cars are safe, clean, and ready for use. You’ll play a key role in transporting students for educational visits, maintaining our fleet, and carrying out minor repairs. This is a hands‑on role that combines driving duties with practical maintenance tasks.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive college vehicles for educational visits and other transport needs.
- Carry out daily and monthly vehicle checks, reporting faults promptly.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, tidy, and well‑presented at all times.
- Complete minor mechanical repairs within your qualifications and experience.
- Maintain stock of oils, fluids, and spare parts.
- Check compliance items such as road tax, permits, and first aid kits.
- Adhere to all legislation, including driver’s hours and Tachograph rules.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance
- Good practical skills in vehicle maintenance
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with attention to detail
- Previous customer care experience
- Knowledge of Health & Safety practices
Desirable:
- PCV Licence (D Licence)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- City & Guilds Motor Vehicle/Engineering qualification
- Previous motor vehicle repair experience
