As a Coastal Engineer, you will undertake a role in the Capital Programme Delivery Service where you will help to protect communities and shape our coastal landscape for future generations. Working across a variety of ground-breaking projects at all stages including project planning, design, and construction.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in all areas of project delivery work, but we are particularly interested in knowledgeable candidates with experience or interest in project management. Working across our project portfolio, this role provides support to project management and design management during the appraisal, design, and construction phases of our projects.
The role involves leading or assisting with the project management function and managing a wide range of stakeholders. Project Managers (PM) are given responsibility for programme, budget, quality, and scope. They manage work packages and report progress to a wide audience of interested stakeholders. They also devise and execute procurement strategies for external suppliers of both professional services and construction works and often undertake the role of NEC ECC Project Manager on construction contracts.
Assistant Project Managers support our PMs with all aspects of project delivery, with opportunity to progress and lead their own projects with experience and development.
You will need a degree in civil engineering, construction management, built environment, geography, project management, quantity surveying or related discipline and applications are welcomed from experienced candidates, graduates, and final year students, with relevant training provided to support your role as part of an integrated team.
This is a career-graded post with the initial salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
