We are looking for a skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to join our small team following a retirement. The role involves safely transporting goods mainly using flatbed lorries, including machinery, bales, straw, and general haulage, with a focus on delivering straw to power stations. The position is primarily nights out (tramping).
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles in compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo responsibly, adhering to weight limits.
- Plan routes to optimize delivery times within driving hour regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with loading/unloading as needed, ensuring cargo security.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC certification, and proven driving experience, especially with flatbed vehicles.
- Knowledge of road laws, safety protocols, and good organisational skills are essential.
- Training will be provided if necessary.
Pay & Benefits
