Vacancies within Secondary Schools for August 2026 (Permanent and Temporary Positions). It is South Lanarkshire Council's mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. Being offered employment as a teacher may result in you working with pupils in supported classes and ASN bases within our establishments. You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate, with our aim of high-quality learning and teaching at the core of our education provision. You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".

You will be required to bring a completed reference with you to interview for the panel to review. This will then be verified with your line manager should you be successful in securing a post.

Church Approval: Should you be successful in securing a post within a Roman Catholic school, you will be required to submit your diocese approval immediately to personnel service, to allow your recruitment checks to be carried out. Motherwell Diocese have agreed you can apply for this now at the application stage, asking for approval within any Roman Catholic primary/secondary school in South Lanarkshire. You will be required to bring your diocese approval with you to interview for the panel to review, so please begin the process of requesting this now. This approval will then be updated in partnership with the Diocese should you be successful in securing a post.

The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned. The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings. Checks may be carried out to authenticate the documents provided.
