Hours: 35 hours per week

Work pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am – 4:15pm

Salary: £40,804 – £46,991 annual salary

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Engineering Officer to be part of our Structures team.
  • The main duties include assisting in the preparation and delivery of capital and revenue funded projects.
  • Participating in the routine bridge inspection regime.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with appropriate health and safety requirements.
  • Handling routine and statutory enquiries including those from Elected Members and the public.
  • You will work as part of the Structures team and sometimes individually to specific deadlines and direction.
  • Support delivery of commitments associated with the Council's extensive roads structures asset.

Qualifications and experience:

  • You should have knowledge and experience of technical aspects of this area of work.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of bridges and other roads structure related projects, both major and minor, would be advantageous, including the procurement and financial monitoring required.
  • An HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent is a minimum requirement for this post.
  • Ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Civil Engineer or working towards this level of professional qualification.
  • You must hold a current driver's licence as you will be expected to travel throughout the Council area.
