We are seeking to appoint a personable and organised individual to work in our Prep School Reception for 10 hours per week.

Receptionists are the first point of contact for parents, prospective parents and all visitors to the Junior Prep School and Senior Prep School, creating a vital first impression and providing the required assistance. Additionally, Receptionists provide all round administrative support to the JPS and SPS, together with providing emergency first aid as the first point of contact.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greeting College visitors, signing them in and issuing/collecting visitor badges, in addition to responding to their enquiries
  • Administrating emergency first aid to children and preparing medical kits for school trips
  • Liaising with teaching, support staff, children, parents and visitors to the College
  • Assisting the PA to the Heads of the JPS and SPS and the Admissions Executive as required
  • Managing telephone calls and the post
  • Assisting with the production of letters, newsletters, booklets, and other publications
  • Assisting with Admissions Events

Person Specification

  • Very good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal)
  • Integrity and tact are essential, together with an appreciation of the requirement and necessity to maintain complete confidentiality at all times
  • A very good level of administrative skills and attention to detail
  • First aid qualified or prepared to become qualified
  • Patience and aptitude to work with young children
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Organised, reliable and able to take the initiative
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities

Hours of Work

3:30pm – 5:30pm Monday to Friday and flexibility to work additional hours as required.
