As a Teacher of Religious Studies, you will inspire young people to think critically about faith, ethics, philosophy, and the world around them. We are seeking a passionate and reflective teacher with high expectations, excellent subject knowledge, and a commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes for all students. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, use assessment effectively to drive progress, and play a key role in students’ academic and pastoral development.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging Religious Studies lessons that inspire students and ensure strong progress and achievement for all learners.
• Plan and adapt learning activities using inclusive teaching strategies that meet the needs of students of all abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and inform future teaching and intervention strategies.
• Support the academic, personal, and pastoral development of students, including acting as a form tutor and promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents while upholding the values of Thinking Big, Doing the Right Thing, and Showing Team Spirit.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in a relevant subject specialism, with strong Religious Studies subject knowledge and understanding of effective pedagogy.
• Proven ability to teach good or outstanding lessons and secure positive outcomes for students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills, using data effectively to inform teaching, raise standards, and accelerate progress.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, support colleagues, and foster students’ self-esteem and respect for others.
