At Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy, we are seeking an additional highly motivated, passionate and supportive Attendance Officer to join our busy pastoral team. We are increasing our team by a further Attendance Officer to meet the needs of our students and community, being proactive with our mantra of 'Attend to Achieve'.
To be successful in the role, you will be a reliable and hard-working team player. You will have strong keyboard skills, written and verbal communication skills, and a 'can do' attitude. Experience working within a school environment and using Arbor are desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. There is also the potential of an honorarium for an experienced School Attendance Officer who has at least 3 years' service in a similar role. For the right candidate, this would result in line managing one Attendance Officer and taking overall responsibility for the department.
About the Academy: Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, very close to the centre of Birmingham. It is a slightly larger than average, 11-16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,200 students. It has grown over the last few years and is now full and oversubscribed in every year group. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent. OSCA was graded as a good academy for the third time in 2023. The academy has been recognised with a myriad of awards over recent years, including the Investors in People Gold Award, The Quality In Careers Standard Gold Award, The Basic Skills Quality Mark, and the Artsmark Gold Award.
