About Cury School: Cury School is a satellite provision of Nancealverne School in Penzance. We pride ourselves on providing tailored support and education to empower our students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Role Overview: The role of a Teaching Assistant at Cury School may change during the day, dependent upon the support needs of each pupil. The successful candidate will be required to work alongside class teachers and other support staff and to follow any recommendations/guidance from multi-agency teams. Experience of supporting pupils with SEMH needs, severe physical and/or learning difficulties is desirable for this position. Experience in a school setting is also desirable. A warm and empathetic personality is vital, as is a desire to work professionally with others to ensure we provide the best possible support for our pupils. • Demonstrate optimistic personal behaviour, positive relationships, and attitudes towards pupils with profound, severe, and complex learning needs, the workforce, and towards parents, governors, and the local community.
  • Lead by example - with integrity, creativity, resilience, and clarity.
  • Sustain knowledge and understanding of education and school systems locally and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Support the educational, social, and physical needs of pupils including those with severe physical, learning, and complex behavioural difficulties, supporting the curriculum and school through the provision of assistance to the Teacher.
