The Admissions Office handles the entry process for all pupils entering the Senior School and comprises the Director of Marketing and Admissions, and two Admissions Executives. Together they are responsible for the smooth running of the admissions process across the College, from initial enquiry and registration through to eventual enrolment. They are therefore required to be knowledgeable about the School and to be able to respond to queries quickly and efficiently, as well as being organised and methodical in their work.

The Admissions Assistant is an essential role as Hurst’s first contact for all prospective enquiries. These enquiries need to be welcomed, considered, logged and replied to with appropriate advice in a professional, warm and efficient way.

This post is offered on a part-time basis, ten hours a week, term time only. There is flexibility in how these hours are split over the usual working week

Role Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Admissions Inbox
  • To receive and respond to all enquiries in the Admissions Inbox, entering details onto the College database iSAMS.
  • In collaboration with the Admissions team, ensure all enquirers are sent the relevant marketing materials and information.
  • Assist the Admissions team with packing prospectus packs for events and tours.
  • Add relevant notes about visiting families onto the database where required.
  • Book families onto Open Mornings via the College database, confirming their attendance.
  • To gather data on all enquirers and input into the School database;
  • To ensure all enquirers are sent the relevant prospectus, marketing materials and information;
  • Processing Registrations and ensure data is accurate.
  • Follow up on missing information.
  • Maintaining prospective pupil data on the admissions database – this includes changes to contact details, place status and scholarship outcomes.
  • To offer flexible help to support the admissions office by helping out with other tasks when pinch points arise in the department calendar

Working Hours:

The post is ten hours a week, term time only. There is flexibility in how these hours are split over the usual working week. There may be a requirement to work occasional additional hours, for which time off in lieu will be given.
