Join our latest project! We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the delivery of complex, safety-critical engineering systems. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, ideal for a systems engineer with strong requirements engineering capability who can integrate quickly into the team.

You will play a key role across requirements definition, system integration, verification and compliance activities, supporting the successful delivery of regulated engineering products. This is a contract position (minimum 3 months), based in Aberdeen. The client prefers people who can work on-site full time, but will be open to hearing other working arrangements if completely necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply systems engineering and requirements management across the full product lifecycle
  • Elicit, analyse, document and manage stakeholder, system and sub-system requirements
  • Develop and maintain structured requirements sets, baselines and specifications
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements, architecture, design, verification and validation evidence
  • Support system architecture and technical design activities
  • Facilitate and contribute to requirements and design reviews
  • Work closely with engineering and test teams to support integration, verification, validation and qualification activities
  • Maintain configuration control and disciplined change management of requirements and system data
  • Support compliance with internal standards, regulatory frameworks and industry best practice
  • Provide systems and requirements engineering input to functional safety and certification activities (e.g. CE / UKCA)
Requirements:
  • Proven experience applying systems engineering in multidisciplinary environments (mechanical, electrical, software)
  • Strong background in requirements elicitation, decomposition, management and traceability
  • Experience working on regulated, safety-critical or compliance-driven engineering programmes
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 (advantageous)
  • Understanding of CE and UKCA compliance frameworks
  • Eligibility for BPSS
