Coalesce Management Consulting is supporting a leading engineering organisation in the advanced mobility sector in the search for a Powertrain Test & Validation Engineer. This role focuses on the development and validation of next-generation electric powertrain systems, specifically Power Electronics and Motor/Generator technologies.
The successful candidate will act as the key interface between the design engineering teams and the test facility, combining hands-on test execution with analysis, validation, and technical problem-solving.
- Manage daily test cell activities including setup, execution, and data acquisition.
- Develop and execute test procedures for electrical powertrain validation.
- Collaborate with Power Electronics and Motor design teams to define validation requirements and test plans.
- Investigate system and component issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions through to closure.
- Correlate simulation and design data with physical test results using tools such as MATLAB and Ansys.
- Support test facility operations including instrumentation, DAQ systems, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, and reporting.
- Coordinate hardware updates, manage test assets, and support build changes.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as Fault Tree Analysis.
- Experience in powertrain or electrical testing environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in validation, testing, and failure analysis.
- Proficiency in data acquisition systems and data analysis.
