What you'll do: Lead the electrical engineering delivery of battery energy storage and renewable energy projects, from early feasibility and FEED through to detailed design and technical assurance. Take responsibility for the design of BESS balance-of-plant systems and the development of grid connection solutions ranging from 11kV to 400kV. Carry out planning-stage designs, feasibility studies, and front-end engineering for energy storage systems, including grid interfaces, control, and metering. Provide ongoing support to bidding activities, project delivery, and quality management processes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience within the energy sector with involvement as a FEED designer, detailed designer, or Owner’s Engineer.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy generation and energy storage technologies, with particular expertise in battery energy storage systems across multiple chemistries.
- Sound knowledge of grid connection requirements for renewable generation and energy storage, including compliance with G99, G100, and Grid Code requirements for transmission-connected assets.
- Collaborative team player with a client-focused approach and strong customer-facing skills.
- Ability to manage workload flexibly across multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Understanding of project management principles, including budget, schedule, and quality control.
- Experience in design review and site construction support.
- Strong knowledge of energy storage systems, with an appreciation of grid connection considerations.
- Professional registration or progress toward registration (e.g. Chartered Engineer).
- Experience using engineering and design software tools such as AutoCAD, EnergyPro, CYMCAP, Cableizer, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ETAP, and DigSILENT.
