CMC have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (HV/EHV). The role involves managing pre-construction and construction activities - from design through to energisation - for large-scale high-voltage infrastructure and grid-connection projects, typically between 33kV and 400kV. This may include feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning for new or existing substations and related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop HV projects (up to and including 20kV) from initial functional requirements into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Manage the development and delivery of small to medium HV projects (cable, plant and civil) to meet time, cost, safety and quality targets.
- Work closely with clients and internal/external stakeholders to progress and deliver HV projects.
- Act as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for assigned HV projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal engineering and project delivery teams.
- Coordinate external service providers and support commercial administration.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working on HV substation projects.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution plant, operations and control systems, including switchgear, protection systems, power transformers and underground power cables.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and CDM requirements.
- Ability to fulfil the duties of a Designer and/or Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation related to substation design.
- Willingness to travel based on project needs.
