Supply Chain Planner – Leeds (Hybrid)

Business Unit: Corporate (BSCRP_CUST) Category: Procurement / Supply Chain Hours: 37.5 per week (Full‑time)

Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite

Role Overview

As part of planned leave cover, we are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner to support the Cummins Sales & Services site in Leeds.

The role focuses on supplier performance, inventory optimisation, and daily operational planning across a complex global supply network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Performance Management — Manage a diverse global supplier base, driving Class 1 & 2 escalations and continuous improvement activity.
  • Service Level & Inventory Management — Maintain and improve customer service levels while managing inventory targets and balancing supply/demand.
  • Daily Operational Planning — Oversee critical daily supply chain processes, identifying and eliminating potential failures before they impact operations.
  • Preventative Supply Chain Practices — Champion proactive planning to reduce expediting and prevent continuity issues.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work with data teams, integrators, and operational stakeholders to optimise planning parameters and resolve network exceptions.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) — Lead short‑ and mid‑term tactical improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong background in planning, analytics, and supplier performance management.
  • Experience managing Class 1 & 2 supplier escalations and driving CI activity prior to escalation.
  • Understanding of TCO, network exception management, and inbound materials tracking.
  • Ability to work with data teams to identify and optimise key planning parameters.
  • Proven track record of delivering both individual and team results within a supply network.
