Join our latest project! CMC are supporting a defence-focused engineering programme and are looking for an experienced Software Validation Engineer to support a critical compliance phase. An embedded C solution has been developed on a PIC18 microcontroller, and we now require an experienced engineer to review, validate, and assess the software against recognised safety standards. This is a remote, milestone-driven contract with direct access to the technical lead and full documentation provided (source code, compiled data, architecture flow). The project will commence at the beginning of April.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reviewing embedded C code
- Assessing compliance against safety standards
- Producing a formal validation/reporting pack
- Supporting software sign-off in a regulated environment
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in embedded C development
- Experience working with PIC microcontrollers (ideally PIC18F series)
- Familiarity with MPLAB
- Proven background in software validation within safety-critical environments
- Experience working to recognised safety standards (AOP-52, IEC, MIL, DEF or similar)
- Ability to review and assess existing codebases for compliance
- Experience producing formal technical compliance documentation
- Eligibility for BPSS
