Overview
Embedded Software Engineer (Contract) – Outside IR35
Hybrid | Bristol (3 days onsite)
Location: Bristol (hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for locator devices
- Enhance and support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality
- Act as the interface between low‑level firmware and higher‑level UI components
- Debug, test, and optimise embedded systems for performance and reliability
- Collaborate with internal engineers to ensure smooth knowledge transfer
- Deliver clearly defined project outcomes within agreed timelines
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Embedded C
- Solid background in low‑level firmware development
- Hands‑on experience working with BLE stacks and integration
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex‑M)
- Familiarity with RTOS environments (e.g. FreeRTOS)
- Proven hardware / software integration experience
