We’re supporting on a major energy infrastructure project and are looking for a QA/QC Engineer with strong mechanical erection experience. This role focuses on ensuring quality compliance across boiler pressure parts installation and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead QC inspections on mechanical erection activities (boilers, pressure parts, water wall panels, piping)
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, method statements, and ITPs
  • Witness inspections including:
    • Fit-up, alignment, and dimensional checks
    • Bolting/torqueing
    • Welding and heat treatment (PWHT)
  • Oversee and verify NDT activities (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT)
  • Ensure adherence to WPS / PQR and welder qualifications
  • Manage QA/QC documentation:
    • Inspection reports, material certs (EN 10204)
    • Welding logs, NDT reports
  • Raise and manage NCRs, RFIs, and corrective actions
  • Support testing & commissioning (hydrotests, leak tests, flushing)
  • Coordinate subcontractors and support audits/inspections

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5–8+ years’ experience in QA/QC for mechanical erection
  • Strong background in:
    • Boilers / HRSG / power generation / industrial plants
    • Welding and NDT processes
  • Familiar with standards such as:
    • EN 12952, EN 13445, ISO 9001, ISO 3834
  • Certifications like CSWIP / BGAS / ISO 9712 (advantageous)
  • Strong documentation, communication, and site-based experience
