Overview
An apprenticeship to support multi‑sport and cricket coaching sessions for primary schools and cricket clubs across Berkshire.
The role includes after‑school clubs, breakfast programmes, club nights, holiday camps and private one‑to‑one coaching.
The apprentice will shadow senior coaches and gradually take on greater responsibility while studying for the Community Activator Coach Level2 qualification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead coach in delivering multi‑sport and cricket sessions to primary school pupils.
- Support after‑school and breakfast clubs, club evenings, holiday camps and private coaching sessions.
- Shadow existing sessions to learn coaching techniques and session structure.
- Co‑organise and run sessions under the guidance of the lead coach.
- Complete blended learning modules and attend off‑job training as directed by the Learning Coach.
- Prepare for mock assessments and the End‑Point Assessment.
- Reflect on learning and apply feedback to improve coaching practice.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or willing to start a Community Activator Coach Level2 apprenticeship.
- Strong communication and customer‑care skills.
- Attention to detail and good organisational ability.
- Able to work as part of a team and adapt to changing schedules.
- Physically fit and able to support active sporting sessions.
- Training & Development
- 12–18‑month work‑based training programme delivered by LIFETIME TRAINING GROUP LIMITED.
- Blended learning through one‑on‑one remote visits and the Aptem online learning platform.
- On‑site coaching supervision and regular feedback from a Learning Coach.
- Mock assessments and preparation support for the final End‑Point Assessment.
- Post‑apprenticeship career pathways within PWCC Ltd, schools or further cricket coaching qualifications.
- Working Arrangements
30 hours per week, including shift work on bank holidays, evenings and weekends. Exact shifts to be confirmed. Expected apprenticeship duration: 1 year 3 months.
