An exciting opportunity has become available to contribute to the Northwest team’s ongoing commitment to improving customer experience, both internally and externally.
Main Duties
- Through close supervision and direction of driving staff, ensure that the company’s network of services operates in compliance with the Traffic Commissioner’s/ VOSA standard of service punctuality and reliability.
- Utilising both the real time information system and manual “on street” observations, monitor service reliability, react to problems as they arise, and be proactive in ensuring that known events/road closures cause the minimum of disruption to the company’s network of services.
- Monitor and record lost mileage by type and ensure resources are used effectively to minimise lost mileage.
- Carry out ticket checks/revenue protection tasks/school loadings checks as required/instructed.
- Handle customer complaints/comments, investigate, respond to customers as appropriate, and deal with staff members accordingly.
- Carry out Customer liaison duties at the Interchange/School Visits/Road Shows, etc.
- Allocate drivers duties/holidays/sickness/forward allocation planning and ensure that all such records are kept fully up to date.
- Record driver absences and ensure that the input for payroll adjustments is prepared correctly.
- Carry out driver appraisals and back to work interviews.
- Attend the scene of incidents and Road Traffic Collisions involving company vehicles, liaise with appropriate authorities at the scene, ensure that CCTV footage is obtained, and all records and documentation are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Deal with customer enquiries and provide ticket sales functions in support of retail staff or at busy times.
- Operate the “control” duty, dealing with issues via the Messaging system and real time information system, booking drivers on and off duty, allocating spare drivers to cover open work.
- Keep up to date the company’s electronic provision of information feeds.
- Participate in the organisation and management of specific one-off events.
- Attend company meetings (e.g., Health & Safety).
- Liaise with all other company departments and external bodies such as the police and local authorities, regarding any matters which may affect the operation of the company’s services.
Hours of Work
Working hours for this role are based on a 5 over 7‑day rota, providing operational coverage across the week. You will be required to work a mixture of early, middle, and late shifts, in line with business needs. Flexibility is essential, as shift patterns will vary to ensure consistent support and service delivery.
