Are you a results-driven Engineering Manager with a passion for safety, reliability, and high-performing teams? Ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, essential transport operation? We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (PCV) to join our senior management team and play a critical role in keeping our fleet — and our passengers — moving safely and on time.

Hallmark Connections is part of the Rotala Group and operates a diverse fleet of buses and coaches, delivering vital public transport services, Hoppa and private hire contracts across Heathrow Airport and the surrounding region.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll have full responsibility for the Engineering function, ensuring outstanding standards of safety, compliance, reliability, and cost control. You’ll lead, develop, and motivate a skilled Engineering team while shaping strategies that support the operational and commercial needs of the business. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your decisions directly impact performance, compliance, and customer experience.

  • Own and control engineering budgets, delivering cost-effective performance
  • Lead and develop the Engineering team, driving engagement, training, and compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA, Health & Safety, and operational legislation
  • Deliver and monitor KPIs across:
  • Vehicle inspection & servicing
  • MOT compliance
  • Fleet reliability & cleanliness standards
  • Oversee the effective use of diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and engineering systems
  • Provide accurate cost analysis and insights to support operational planning
  • Requirements

    • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a PCV environment
    • Experience managing a large fleet or multi‑site engineering operation
    • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. Level 3 HGV City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
    • Strong knowledge of DVSA standards, H&S legislation, and engineering processes
    • Confident IT skills and attention to accurate reporting
    • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends or anti‑social hours when required
    • CPC qualification (or working towards), ideally Transport Manager
    • Experience as a named individual on an Operator’s Licence
