The operators of the Bath CitySightseeing open‑top tours are seeking to recruit two Operations Trainees/Apprentices to assist the Operations Director and Transport Manager.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over, have an interest and enthusiasm for the transport and public service sectors, and be willing to work full time including during unsocial hours if required. A car driving licence should be held, and candidates must be prepared to obtain a full PCV driving licence and an Operator’s Certificate of Professional Competence.

While gaining experience and training, applicants will be required to:

  • Oversee staff reporting and vehicle despatch following prescribed walk‑around checks
  • Allocate staff to duties
  • React to operating situations
  • Ensure full compliance with bus service running arrangements

In due course, negotiating with local authorities and staff representatives will arise as experience is gained. These roles are intended to provide a grounding (of around 18 months duration) for successful candidates to be able to progress in the bus industry and prepare them for greater responsibilities in due course.

Salary will be determined based on age and any previous experience in any employment or activity.
