We are looking for a Tax Accountant to join the Tax and Treasury team. This hybrid role is based in our award‑winning offices near London Bridge, Cannon Street, and Monument stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of transactions for all SPVs and operating entities on a monthly basis to ensure correct VAT treatment by the Finance and AP team before month close.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure the timely payment of all relevant VAT liabilities.
  • Oversight and review of VAT balance sheet reconciliations by set deadlines, ensuring appropriate backup and resolution of issues.
  • Carry out partial exemption calculations and annual adjustments.
  • Prepare and deliver VAT training to the Finance and AP team and other business units.
  • Maintain clear and concise working papers suitable for audit purposes.
  • Support VAT forecasting, budgeting, and analysis in collaboration with Finance to reflect VAT impacts in business planning and decision‑making.
  • Monthly analysis of transactions to identify PSA items for a smooth PSA return at year‑end.
  • Provide support for corporation tax compliance work.
  • Provide day‑to‑day treasury cover including cash management, payments, banking activities, and reporting.
  • Provide cover for Treasury activities when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of VAT compliance experience in a medium/large practice or corporate environment with complex property structures.
  • Solid understanding of VAT legislation related to land, property, construction, and partial exemption, and practical experience with partial exemption annual adjustment calculations.
  • Practical experience managing monthly/quarterly VAT compliance for 20+ VAT‑registered entities, owning the end‑to‑end VAT compliance process.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, XLOOKUP, XMATCH, SUMIFS, IFERROR, date functions, OFFSET, SUMPRODUCT, nested formulas, pivot tables, macros, and process‑improvement applications.
  • ACCA or CIMA part‑qualified, or willing to study towards a professional qualification.
  • High level of initiative, ownership, accountability, and a passion for delivering high‑quality outputs and continuous process improvement.
