We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety professional to drive and embed a strong safety culture across UPP’s portfolio of assets. You will work with senior leaders and operational teams to deliver a performance‑focused, coaching‑led approach that integrates safety into everyday decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the health and safety strategy and embed statutory compliance, internal policies and best practice across all business activities.
  • Lead the internal Health and Safety audit and assurance programme, working with relevant managers to ensure non‑conformities are effectively addressed and closed out.
  • Shape and review safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work and present findings in engaging reports.
  • Advise on the application of CDM regulations and other legislation.
  • Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Own key health and safety systems and projects, and champion a modern, high‑performing culture.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance as a subject‑matter expert to all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6+) with CertIOSH or MIIRSM status.
  • Extensive knowledge of health, safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience completing ISO45001 management audits and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Proficient in writing policies, procedures, reports and safe systems of work.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations and their application.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits and risk assessments.
