Overview
A successful university campus is about the environment, the atmosphere and the people – creating that sense of home that will help students feel safe, secure, and help them thrive.
This role is for a Receptionist who will be front of house on the Reading University site.
It is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours per week from 11:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday.
The salary is £20,471.20 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Provide an excellent and comprehensive reception service to students and the office team; keep records of all visitors and contractors and issue keys when required.
- Assist managers in the coordination of on-site activities and day-to-day administration; complete regular reporting.
- Liaise with the university client, sub-contractors, UPP staff and residents; support with all queries.
- Assist in procurement of goods and services via the purchase system, including producing purchase orders and processing invoices.
- Maintain all technical and statutory records and personnel records held on site.
- Manage and monitor out-of-hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health & safety procedures and residence instructions.
- Operate a computer-based property management database which monitors all planned and reactive maintenance works.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role and environment with strong communication and administrative skills.
- Comfortable working with databases and spreadsheets.
- Team-focused with a passion to provide a helpful and welcoming service to students, staff and visitors.
- Flexible to work additional hours with notice when needed, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends.
- Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, including employment references covering the past three years; may include additional vetting and a basic DBS check.
