Roles and responsibilities for the Senior Representative role include training attendance, meetings, event administration, social media contributions, event planning, and leading weekly events. Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in training, staff meetings and other role-related meetings.
- Assist with event administration: input attendance data, respond to student queries and perform other related tasks.
- Contribute to the social media marketing of events and activities.
- Take an active role in planning events; contribute ideas and assist with organisation.
- Lead a minimum of one event per week: set up the event, direct volunteer reps, register attendance, lead or assist with the activity, and respond to queries.
- Ensure events are conducted safely in line with health and safety policies.
- Promote upcoming events to attendees and gather feedback during events.
- Attend relevant training provided by UPP and its partners.
- Be a trusted part of the halls community by answering questions and informing staff on issues within the halls of residence.
Requirements
- Candidates must be current University students who are living or have previously lived in the University halls of residence.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
- Must be available to attend a compulsory training session (date to be confirmed with all successful candidates).
Commitment
The role guarantees a minimum of 5 hours per week during term time only (approximately 25 weeks across 2.5 terms) with potential for additional hours. Senior Reps are expected to run a minimum of one event per week in addition to administration time. Some evening and weekend work is required.
