We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our Reading team. This is a permanent part‑time position working 25 hours per week (8:30am–1:30pm, Monday–Friday). The salary is £16,930 per annum.
Responsibilities- Clean designated areas of student accommodation, including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and kitchen white goods.
- Vacuum, spot‑clean and shampoo carpets; sweep, polish floors and clean stairs.
- Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades and other fixtures as appropriate.
- Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin‑store areas.
- During the summer season only: make beds (strip and change sheeting), collect and bag laundered linen, pack laundry for collection; clean internal and external windows where applicable; clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils.
- Maintain daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers and UPP staff.
- Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times.
- Experience cleaning in a similar environment.
- Excellent communication, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for doing an excellent job.
- Good conversational standard of the English language and ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance.
- Prepared to work at other sites and additional hours when needed, especially during student arrival and departure weekends.
- Ability to pass satisfactory vetting, employment references covering the past three years, DBS and barring checks if required.
