Job Details

A temporary part-time position working 25 hours per week from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday.

The salary is £12.90 per hour.

The role will be responsible for cleaning the designated areas for our student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens.

  • Key Duties
  • Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets
  • Sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
  • Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
  • Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
  • During the summer season only: Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting, collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
  • Clean internal and external windows, where applicable
  • Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate
  • Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff
  • Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times

Requirements

  • Existing experience of cleaning in a similar environment and good communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and a passion to do an excellent job.
  • A good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance.
  • Prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
  • Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years and may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, including completing a basic DBS.
