It’s about the environment, the atmosphere and the people – creating that sense of home that will help students feel safe, secure, and help them thrive. This is a permanent part‑time position working 25 hours per week Monday to Friday. The salary is £16930.65 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Clean designated areas of student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens
- Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets
- Sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
- Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
- Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
- During the summer season only: make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting; collect laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
- Clean internal and external windows where applicable
- Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils as appropriate
- Daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers and associated staff
- Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times
- Be prepared to work at other sites and for additional hours when required, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends
Qualifications
- Experience of cleaning in a similar environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good conversational standard of the English language and ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance
- Prepared to work at other sites and for additional hours when required
- Subject to satisfactory vetting, including employment referencing and possibly a basic DBS check
