Role Overview
Clean designated areas within the Halls of Residence including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens. Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs. Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate. Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas.
During the conference season only:
- Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting, collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection.
- Clean internal and external windows, where applicable.
- Move free standing furniture as required.
- Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate.
Some level of flexibility (with advance notice) is required, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends. Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices. Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff. Possible liaison with specialist sub-contractors and the University Maintenance Section.
Qualifications & Requirements
You must have a conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret basic Health & Safety guidance. Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years, and you may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, which could include completing a basic DBS.
