As the Head of Services Sales you will lead both direct and virtual teams to create and drive the Services Sales strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and wider targets. You will execute this strategy alongside the team, ensuring a high-performing Services business with strong commercial acumen, fostering collaboration and innovation across direct and virtual teams. The role demands a strategic thinker and leader who mentors and inspires cross‑functional teams within key business units—including OCTO, Partner Management (PPM), Professional Services, Managed Services, and Marketing—while ensuring alignment to CDW’s overarching sales objectives.

Primary Objectives of the Role

  • Deliver exceptional internal and external customer experiences and outcomes aligned to our Services sales motions and portfolio while driving a profitable outcome for CDW.
  • Clearly define, along with the office of the CTO and the Service Operations function, the Services go‑to‑market strategy, focus capability areas, and manage the P&L within this team.
  • Partner with various internal business units to support initiatives that improve operations through process and platform enhancements, demonstrating balanced flexibility and passion to engage.
  • Create and evolve learning and development programmes—collaborating with other business units—to ensure co‑workers continue developing individually and in line with business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Build the UK’s best Services Sales business by leading and developing key go‑to‑market pillars.
  • Proactively drive exceptional and consistent customer and seller experiences, innovating delivery models, improving opportunity win rates and customer upselling/cross‑selling via credible presales expertise.
  • Create and execute a business plan aligned to CDW’s strategy, delivering profitable outcomes and managing the P&L.
  • Continuously evolve the business unit to remain relevant and forward‑thinking, never standing still.
  • Engage with sales leadership and the wider business to assess and support opportunities across pre‑sales through delivery, considering resources and constraints.
  • Develop market insights and competitive intelligence in collaboration with Solution Sales, Office of the CTO, Partner Management, Marketing, and Sales teams.
  • Host, attend, and participate in internal, customer, or partner events to showcase CDW’s capabilities.
  • Assess and develop the Services Sales team, recruiting top talent to drive toward strategic objectives while continuously improving standards.
  • Drive exceptional collaboration across all presales business units for broad customer outcomes.

Management Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of innovation, high productivity, and quality, observing performance of direct and indirect reports and maintaining focus, motivation, and quality standards.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor teams and individuals, ensuring high motivation, quality focus, and commercial orientation.
  • Assist with training and certification plans for the Solution Sales business in collaboration with the Learning & Development department.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of Solution Sales and wider business culture, promoting diversity, team building, and learning opportunities.
  • Attract, retain, and develop talent with technical or professional expertise relevant to the UK business.
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with the team, monitoring performance, supporting development, and completing the coworker life‑cycle process in line with Co‑worker Services Guidance.
  • Ensure accurate departmental financial forecasting, cost‑center management, opportunity‑cost model standards, staffing, recruitment, and coworker performance management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other departmental leads (including US and Canadian peers) to support standardisation opportunities across geographies.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for business‑critical events, owning issues and driving remediation as needed.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Proven experience in the Information Technology and Services market with a record of leadership, team development, and revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with C‑level leaders and build lasting relationships.
  • Track record of driving revenue and profit growth, managing costs, and developing talent.
  • Strong understanding of the procurement lifecycle, including negotiation, contracting, and third‑party management.
  • Professional certifications in Sales, Business Administration, or Leadership & Management are desirable.
  • High ambition, credibility, motivation, and accountability with strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation formats.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent time‑management skills, able to lead and prioritise multiple initiatives dynamically.
  • Prepared for occasional travel between CDW UK and international offices while maintaining work‑life balance.
